Second (third, actually) blogger error in 10 minutes.

Good thing I thought to hit apple-R to resend the form, or I would have lost my previous post (yes, I checked in another tab to make sure it hadn't posted and the error was about something else).Stephanie Boothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17928593027589591845noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9517086.post-57235383396837728842007-03-11T17:46:00.000+01:002007-03-11T17:52:16.517+01:00Sub-Optimal Comment ManagementThanks to Romain for the title...

I have a bunch of comment spam on this blog. To clean it up, I must go and delete each comment individually, it seems, and wait a longish moment for the confirmation window to appear, give confirmation, wait for the confirmation window to load and then click back on the link to the blog post. And deal with the next comment.

And to make things worse, comment moderation is either "on" or "off" -- no smart middle-ground.

Forget it. This, at least, is something that WordPress.com deals with much better.Stephanie Boothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17928593027589591845noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9517086.post-56755997158831334862007-03-11T17:30:00.000+01:002007-03-11T17:32:45.967+01:00Template EditorI like the template editor. It's pretty cool. However, it bugs me a lot that the "Edit Layout" page doesn't refresh when I add new elements. I added link list, and as I couldn't see it on my template editor page I thought it had failed. So I added it again. It still didn't appear. I refreshed, and there it was twice!Stephanie Boothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17928593027589591845noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9517086.post-4347519358803915702007-03-11T17:07:00.000+01:002007-03-11T17:08:18.995+01:00New Blogger?Just trying to see what the new Blogger looks like.

Labels? Why can't they call them "categories" or "tags"? Oooh... GMail labels. When you write a new post in blogger, coComment (a cool service I work for) thinks the post title is part of a comment form.

I'll report it straight away, and hopefully it will soon be fixed!Stephanie Boothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17928593027589591845noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9517086.post-1103313066319650222004-12-17T20:49:00.000+01:002004-12-17T20:51:06.320+01:00Comparison Between Hosted Blog PlatformsI tested 13 hosted blog platforms in total, and the write-up is now online.Stephanie Boothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17928593027589591845noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9517086.post-1102615204895018792004-12-09T18:58:00.000+01:002004-12-09T19:00:04.896+01:00PicturesWell, at least it's clear enough. Blogger seems a tad slow right now -- or is it me?Stephanie Boothhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/17928593027589591845noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9517086.post-1102499334062694752004-12-08T10:48:00.000+01:002004-12-08T10:48:54.063+01:00No Ping by Default!I've just enabled the ping to weblogs.com -- it was disabled by default.

The best I've seen so far is at ViaBloga. You just enter the URL of the link you want to add, and it fetches the link title, a sreenshot, the RSS feed... Just perfect for people who need to add lots of links to their sidebars.

I already appreciate being able to switch from the graphical editor to the HTML source -- that was a specially nice thing when my first link (on Kevin's name) decided it was going to be a neverending link spanning all my post.

I've used blogger before, but not BlogSpot. So here we go. Expect some nasty feedback, as always.

(Oh first, gripes, long-known: no categories, no trackbacks -- I mean, hey! this is 2004!)
